Session Types

Conference

There is a session chair and a speaker. A maximum of 50 minutes of presentation and 10 minutes of discussion are held.

Panel

It consists of a session chair and 3 speakers. The total time is 1.5 hours. It consists of the trending topics of the relevant field. Speakers present for a maximum of 25 minutes each. 15 minutes are devoted to discussion.

Case Discussion

It is done in a total of 1.5 hours. Two or three trainees/specialists make different case reports that need to be analyzed in turn. Meanwhile, three senior academics sit on the stage in the form of a round table. A maximum of 30 minutes is used for the presentation and analysis of each case. Senior trainers sitting at the round table make definitions that lead to case solving and try to analyze the case by asking questions to the participants or taking questions from the participants. As a result of the analysis and decision, the person who makes the presentation progresses and concludes the case and the presentation. Proceed to the next case.

Open Session

With GençBil and academics from all levels, the trending topic selection of that year is used as a theme. The session is moderated by two senior academics who deliver a keynote speech and ensure that the discussions are on track. In addition, three Gençbil members lead the discussions. Interactive conversation with the audience for 1 hour. Questions asked about the topic are answered in real time.

Course & Interactive Sessions

These are participant-oriented meetings with a maximum of 20 people and using environments other than the main conference areas. Participants are informed in advance about the topics on which various topics are covered practically and discussion environments are created. Registration is free of charge. A minimum of two and a maximum of five people participate as mentors. Written and visual materials can be prepared in advance and given to the participants as homework before the congress starts. These sessions are planned for a minimum of 1.5 hours and a maximum of 4 hours.

Analysis Session with an Expert

Topics should be relevant to the application. The session should allow discussion with experts and include a personal exchange of views, direct interaction, discussion of cases and experiences on a topic. Two speakers make the introductory and opening speeches using a maximum of 10 minutes each. Then, interactive discussion and analysis begins with the participation of the audience. It takes a total of 45 minutes.

Training Sessions

In this format, it is aimed to focus on the basic topics in the field of Clinical Microbiology while at the same time providing training to the participants. By applying a questionnaire to the participants in advance on the basic issues, training can also be given on the deficiencies according to the results obtained. Training sessions can also be conducted on cases. In this session format, there are 2 or 3 speeches of 20 minutes each, with the last 20 minutes devoted to discussion. These sessions can be held with a limited number of participants or in the main halls.

Oral Presentation Sessions

Care is taken to ensure that each session includes a series of selected abstracts covering a specific topic. Congress scholarships are given to those who make oral presentations. Each oral presentation session is planned for one (6 presentations) or two hours (12 presentations) on various days of the congress. The duration of the oral presentation is eight minutes. Two minutes are devoted to discussion. Two session chairs lead the oral presentations.

E-poster presentations

These are oral sessions that include selected abstracts. Speakers present highlights of their research work in front of their E-Poster. These sessions are held in multiple sessions in designated open space halls. At each station, a chairman listens to and evaluates the presentations. People who are on the platform watch the presentation. Each presentation takes a maximum of 5 minutes.

Poster Sessions

It includes abstracts that have not been assigned to oral or e-poster sessions and have been accepted. Accepted posters are accessed electronically. Paper Poster Sessions are organized according to the sub-categories of the posters and the poster owners in the hall summarize their work in a few sentences. At the end of the session, questions are taken. These sessions are held for a maximum of 45 minutes and 30 posters are reviewed during this time.

Film screening

A pandemic film is watched with the participants in a free seating arrangement in the e-poster area. A discussion among the participants is initiated by the three moderators at the end of the film. The points that are right and wrong in the film are emphasized. This session is held once during the congress after all sessions are over.

Quiz Show

It can be practiced in the main hall after all sessions are over or during the social program. There are a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 7 competitors. Questions are prepared in advance. There is a session chair and a moderator. It aims to learn while having fun.
