XLIth TURKISH MICROBIOLOGY CONGRESS

Dear Colleagues, Dear Members,

We are excited to announce the XLIth Turkish Microbiology Congress, which is held in Antalya on November 13-17, 2024. Our goal at this year's TMC Congress is to bring together more than 1000 members from all over Turkey in an exciting scientific environment where research is shared and discussed. Our congress provide us with a unique opportunity to discuss the developments and future perspectives in the field of microbiology with experienced national and international speakers who have supported the scientific platform with their studies in their field so far.

This year, we are planning to organize meetings that we all experience together in our congress; we involve the participants more interactively with different session types such as case discussions, analysis with experts, open sessions, training sessions. During the congress, courses on different subjects (Bacteriophage, Antibiotic Resistance, Parasitology, Bioinformatics, Immunology, Tuberculosis, Artificial Intelligence, Career Opportunities) are organized and 20 people are registered for these courses in advance. Details about the courses will be announced to our members via e-mail. In addition, our "Tell Your Thesis" event continues during the congress. Under the roof of the Turkish Microbiology Congress, the "12th National Molecular and Diagnostic Microbiology Congress" to be held by the Ankara Microbiology Association in a separate hall for one day enrich our congress.

The main theme of this year's congress is "youth and innovations". Our greatest wish and expectation is the active participation of our young colleagues in the congress. At the XLIth Turkish Microbiology Congress, many young colleagues are given congress accommodation scholarships. We plan to end the acceptance of the papers of the applicants on July 20, 2024, so that they can be objectively evaluated by a jury of distinguished scientists over a wide period of time. Our scholarship winners present their work orally at the congress. In addition, our members who want to participate in the congress with a non-scholarship paper are able to send their studies until September 1, 2024.

This year, we wish to create a "Living Congress Program" with the suggestions and support of both our working groups and participants. The first draft scientific program we published develop and take shape with your feedback. In addition, satellite symposia of industry partners are published in the sponsors' section of the program as they are identified. Our congress web page start to be published on February 15, 2024 and the program is constantly be updated. In this process, we expect all our members to suggest topics they would like to be discussed. We plan to complete our scientific program by the end of June.

In addition to a rich scientific program, different types of session models, courses, interactive open sessions, we also prepare social programs where you can have a good time and relax from the daytime sessions. We learn and have fun together at our congress. We have already started to work with excitement. We look forward to meeting you at our congress. Hope to meet you in November!
